Shepreth gig cancelled - sorry!

Unfortunately, for reasons beyond our control, we've had to withdraw from our gig at the Plough, Shepreth, Cambs on Saturday, September 23.
Our apologies to NiIck at the Plough and to everyone who was planning to come and see us that night. We're due back there on Saturday, November 25, though, so hopefully we'll see you then. 🙂

Studio tracks on the way!

LAST week, Leavin' Trunk enjoyed a VERY fruitful a day in Rooks Yard Studio, in the Essex Delta, recording basic rhythm tracks for a  future release - as well as acting as a demo for getting more and better gigs.

The result of all this activity was the makings of no fewer than EIGHT great tracks - four of them original tunes.

There's still a lot of work to do, adding finished vocal, guitar, keyboard and harmonica tracks, plus mixing, but it's all sounding great.

Watch this space for details and maybe even the odd sneak preview! :)

Leavin’ Trunk confirmed for major outdoor Global Rhythm festival

LEAVIN Trunk are rather chuffed to announce we have been confirmed on the bill of a major outdoor musical event in Ipswich this summer.

The band has been asked to play on the Jazz and Blues stage at Ipswich Jazz Festival 2022 - part of a free music festival with Global Rhythm across five stages featuring blues, jazz, world and Caribbean music to be held in Christchurch Park, Ipswich on Saturday July 2, from 1pm through to 7pm.

The Ipswich Jazz Festival stage will feature  saxophonist Tony Kofi leading the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year Xhosa Cole and his Trio, Andrea Vicari's Jazz Ambassadors with acclaimed young saxophonist Emma Rawicz, Trumpeter Laura Jurd's band Dinosaur, hot on the heels of their successful album and tour Mark Lockheart's Dreamers and the festival's popular cabaret style format with highly rated local professional band The Chris Ingham Trio with singer Jacqui Hicks and reeds player Mark Crooks.

Some of the bands appearing on other stages are will be Ma Bessie And Her Blues Troupe, blues harmonica maestro Paul Lamb, international soca singer DeeVine, Ipswich born RnB star Chantz Marie, multi-genre band Roots 8, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Drywood Cajun Band as well as local bands.

At this banquet of musical delights there will also be music and dance workshops, a fun-fair and a range of food and craft stalls. The festival forms part of Ipswich Music Weekend with satellite events in the evening of Saturday 2 July and Ipswich Music Day the following day,  Sunday 3 July. It's a spectacular weekend to celebrate summer.

Leavin' Trunk's planned weekend visit to Rook Yard Studio to record some tracks had to be been postponed because the recording engineer is isolating after a positive covid test in his family.
